You know that sinking feeling when the item in your cart or that thing you had being eyeing suddenly is no longer available? Yea. It's a sucky feeling. Recently, I had that experience with something I had had my eye on since the summer time. You see it was this gorgeous blue velvet yummy (almost antique) sofa from the 20's. Every time every damn time I went into Northport Antiques, I would look at it, sit on it and dream of the home it would go in. But since we were still looking for a home at ... [Read More]
Getting Published
Hey Buttercups! It's been a while but I am here. Frankly speaking, I was feeling a little uninspired as of late with the delay of our home purchase. Real estate and the buying or selling of it is so nerve wracking and heart wrenching at times. And while things aren't 100% settled yet, I'm optimistic things are gonna work out for the best and I can not wait to show you what we've been up to. I've been wanting to blog but just haven't because well, life gets in the way. First things first, we are in contract to sell our home. Yes, our first home. While it still hasn't sunk in, probably because I'm sort of refusing to take my art collection off the walls just yet, I know it's coming... the day we close the chapter on ... [Read More]
Chalk Painting
I may be a little late to this party but I've recently discovered the wonders of chalk paint. I sort of fell into it after I had purchased a vintage chair that needed a little zhush. I didn't have time to have it reupholstered because I wanted to use it for a party I was hosting at my home later that week. Thankfully, the shop where I purchased the chair also sells Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint and with a little convincing from the shop's owner Amanda, I happily went home with a can of Paris Grey. ...
