I first came across Caryn's work while browsing Etsy. Some seriously talented people on that site! Her work really isn't like anything I have seen (maybe I'm looking in the wrong places) but it's incredible. I love the way she uses photography to capture some images that make you think and then think again. Much of her art looks dark and moody but Caryn reassures us in her bio that she is otherwise "bubbly, light-hearted and even goofy." Please read her bio. She really sums up ... [Read More]
One Room Challenge- sitting this one out
Hey guys! It's my favorite time of year- One Room Challenge time but I'm sad to say I'll be sitting this one out. The room I had hoped to do for this challenge is well... done. Not a bad thing, I suppose. Since we have officially put our house on the market again, I couldn't be in mid- project while showings and open houses were going on. So in just a couple of weeks the room was completed because it had to be. I do really enjoy this challenge and blogging about the progress of a room but stay ... [Read More]
Get Published
I am so pleased with the recent publication of a space I did last year. It is a space very near and dear to me. I'll be posting about this space later on this month... year perhaps (you know what a shitastic blogger I am). Here is a peeksky... Image via Pulse Thanks to Peter Edson for the gorgeous shots. But check out the lovely piece by Long Island Pulse magazine (a big huge thank you to them). If you are hot for a hard copy, I do have some laying about. As always ... [Read More]

Someone recently commented on an IG post of mine "Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication." While I'm pretty certain Leonardo Da Vinci said that back in the day, I'm sure he would agree that his statement is true of the beautiful work of Taryn St. Michele. I first came across Taryn on Instagram and instantly knew that her art could go in any space. Don't let the simplicity of her work fool you though, it does make a major impact like this: Bombshell Kisses Ma-jor impact ... [Read More]
Musings of another year of getting older
Good morning! It's Monday (blah) but it's also February (yay). It's my favorite month of the year because that's right Buttercups, my birthday is in less than 2 weeks and while it's not a huge birthday, it's sorta big-- I've reached mid 30's status! How did I get here? Geesh. I've been doing some reflecting lately on getting older and it's not bothering me as much as I thought it would. Maybe it's because life feels pretty complete. And for the first time in a while I'm content (yes things are ... [Read More]
