It’s week 5 and I can hardly believe it! It’s also November and that means the newest addition to our family will be making his appearance any day now. The anticipation is killing me more so than this One Room Challenge biz.
I’m so thrilled to report that this weekend saw A LOT of progress. Thanks to Craig (Husband extraordinaire) who dedicated himself most of the weekend to putting up the majority of the moulding (with the exception of a little football and trick or treating- check out my Instagram for a picture of my little Curious George and my Man with the Yellow Hat- what a good sport).
I couldn’t believe how quickly he got it all done and with no help from me. Sunday I was in not so great shape and feeling pretty crumby so he took on both the toddler and the room. Our son was all to happy to be with his dad the entire day “helping.” I could hear lots of “Daddy- wooks gooood” and lots of giggling and squealing when the air from the nail gun blew his hair straight up. The boy already loves using toos (yes toos– not tools).
The moulding still needs to be finished in one spot and then painted but I know it’ll get done. He makes good on his word this hubs of mine.
I was certain that putting up the moulding was going to be the toughest part but alas, it’s the damn light fixture. It’s driving him crazy. Having to piecemeal it together because of the missing part has wreaked havoc. He tried to put it up again last night only to realize at 9:30pm that he needed yet another piece. So installed it was not. Hoping to have it installed soon though.
The list of things to do is not but huge but being 9 months pregnant is making the little things pretty difficult and frustrating because I do love to DIY things (paint, use power tools etc- I guess I get it from my dad). Oh well. Next One Room Challenge.
Left to do:
Paint artwork (the only DIY I can muster these days- plus it’ll be soothing to paint again)
Fix Little Boy Blue frame so I can hang it
Finish mobile (a pretty little cloud with crystal raindrops)
Finish moulding
Paint moulding
Paint trim
Hang cornice box
Hang drapery
Clean
And….. style the space
I can’t wait to style the space of course.
I just literally got a call that my cornice box and rocking chair are not quite ready. I was supposed to have picked them up today. God, I hope they are done by tomorrow and ready for install Saturday. Fingers crossed!
Until next week and the big REVEAL- go check out the other bloggers who are working furiously on their projects!
Click here for the participating party and here for the original 20. I’m cheering everyone on.

That moulding looks amazing! Can he come work on my house too? The cute kid can join also! Best of luck with the light fixture and new baby!
