One Room Challenge Guest Participant BIG Reveal

It’s reveal day and I am so thrilled to say that the nursery is all set for the baby’s arrival- even the clothes are washed and in the drawers (yay). I’ve been nesting like crazy the past couple of days and although my back is killing me, I’m happy to be able to welcome the little man to a clean home and a wonderful room. I think it may be my favorite space in our home even though there is not a spot of pink.  

Before the reveal I would like to thank Linda from Calling It Home for coordinating this whole event. It’s been fun and stressful and rewarding all at the same time. I especially love seeing all the talented people that participate and their creativity and let’s face it- endurance through it all! Next I want to thank everyone who has been following along on this little 6 week joy ride. All your likes and comments meant the world to me and kept me motivated to finish on time despite being completely exhausted.

Lastly and most importantly I want to thank my husband who I can not thank enough- ever. I have always said this about him; with Craig, all things are possible. He makes everything possible- even when he doesn’t exactly know how to- like the wall moulding. With countless renovations and projects over the years, he is willing (and even eager) to give it a shot every time and for that he amazes me. He is truly a selfless person who gives of himself and then gives more even when he deserves a break. What a wonderful task he took on (mostly with a smile) and completed this room with little to no help from me. The walls–those walls were all him and I am truly stunned by his handy work. I love you Craig.

Now that I’m crying, I’m ready to show you the room! 
(Damn hormones. Actually thats a big fat lie. I’m a sap all the time-pregnant or not.)

Let me just assure you that the color I chose did not change mid way through the photo shoot. It’s crazy how lighting can change a spaces’ color so dramatically from hour to hour. It really looks super blue sometimes and then a moody grey other times.

Probably my most favorite piece of art- ever. The first time I gave my son some paint- this is what he creates. 
I’ve named it Tiny Dancers. I adore it.

A seashell from the Outer Banks this summer. It hasn’t been painted or altered.

I keep saying that this baby is the cherry on top of our little family sundae. 

Vintage Spaniel Figure courtesy of my Mother In Law. It was her Grandmother’s and I’m so happy to have it in the baby’s room. The baby booties were my son’s when he was born. 

Oh the chandelier that nearly gave my poor sweet husband a coronary. It is glorious though and well worth the effort!

There you have it Buttercups. I hope you enjoyed my tour. Doing this challenge and blogging weekly was really refreshing but I’m not sure I’ll be able to dedicate a lot of time to blogging in the days and weeks to come. Just know I appreciate you reading along and of course all your support and well wishes.

  7. I am soooo impressed that you took this on while so pregnant. What a superstar you are! And your sweet, sweet hubs did an amazing job on those walls!! Let's hear it for loving, hardworking husbands that will do (just about) anything for the women they love. Speaks volumes for the kind of man he is.

    As for the room itself, it could not be lovelier! The molding is spectacular. Every single thoughtful element is, actually. That chair and light sconce are TDF…the wall color is soothing but still unique…the cherry and personal effects and your beautiful artwork. You really did a fabulous job! Now go rest until that little arrives so you're ready to love on him! Be proud, Mama. oxox

  18. Wow Mary I absolutely LOVE this room! I'm a huge fan of blue and the molding is beautiful! Love the personal painting by you and your son, you both are pretty talented. I hear you on the chandelier, hence why I hired an electrician this ORC round! Cheers on a finished room and soon to be addition to your family! XOXO, Sarah
