So sorry for the late post on this week’s One Room Challenge. The week got away from me! PS: how is it week 4 already? That means two more weeks to get things done around these parts. Actually for me, less. I’m having the space photographed a few days early- that Sunday.
Again, not much has progressed, but Craig is fully confident and committed to get it all done by the deadline. I don’t blame him for things not going as fast as I would like. Working in the city and commuting is exhausting and the weekends, well aren’t really restful and are always so jammed with either commitments or what seems like never ending house work (and taking care of me- the super pregnant one). I’m so very thankful though that he takes on these projects and pretty much with a smile.
Update:
This week, we managed to pick out and purchase the moulding. While I wanted to map out the moulding scheme on the walls with painter’s tape, it was much easier in Hubster’s brain to map it out on Excel. The man is a wiz at that program and for me, who really knows a few basics, it’s one of the things I love about him. Weird, I know.
So with the moulding mapped out this weekend will be all about putting it up. It will include large boxes on the top followed by a chair rail and smaller boxes on the bottom. The chair rail will be decorative in an egg and dart motif and all the moulding will be painted the same color as the wall. I won that battle. YAY.
What else…? This week did see a lot of aggravation with the lighting situation. Not sure, but the canopy to the fixture (the top part that anchors into the ceiling) has disappeared and trying to find a replacement in the right size that will fit the medallion we purchased has been nearly impossible. Frustrating. We found one at a random lighting shop in the middle of a rain storm the other day and now we just have to sort out the medallion.
I’m certain this will all work out- as does everything. It just may be a teensy bit stressful. I’m hoping for a few small miracles this weekend- the moulding to be done and the Mets to come back from whatever coma they are in and win some games!
Don’t forget to check on the other participants here and the original 20 here! Cheering everyone on as these weeks close in.
Hope you all have a great weekend and a safe and Happy Halloween. I’m off now to take my little Curious George over to see his great grandparents so they can laugh at his cuteness.
