Hey Buttercups! It’s that time of year again where 6 weeks will fly by in a blink and to be honest, this time around I could use the next 6 weeks to go as fast as they can- I’m now not sleeping very well and for the past week and half I’ve been on the sofa. Every. Damn. Night. (Plus we really want to meet the new baby!)
Today marks the first week of the One Room Challenge Guest Participant Event. The One Room Challenge (or ORC) was started by Linda from Calling It Home for 20 bloggers to get a room done- sort of as a motivational tool of sorts. Since then, I’m really happy that she opened it up to other bloggers as a linking event. That’s where I come in. My first room as you may recall was my dining room.

I was super proud of this space so I decided to participate in the One Room Challenge last Fall and completed this space for a client of mine.
Although stressful at times, it’s such a fun challenge!
This ORC couldn’t have come at a better time though. It’ll be a good kick us in the ass to get the nursery done motivator (I’m due in about 7 weeks) and I’m thrilled to be blogging again every week too.
The room that we are making over is a room that had always been our guest room. It actually got quite a bit of use having my grandparents stay with us often. But it wasn’t a space I loved. It was a lot of mixed stuff and it just was disjointed from the rest of our home.

I’m thinking the walls will be a grey of some sort. But still have yet to decide.

I am digging the color of the room now though, as it picks up some of the color in the beautiful Schumacher print that I chose for the cornice box. But much to my surprise, Craig (the hubs), is up for repainting.
What the what!?
The biggest job for him though will be the moulding that will be installed. I wish him luck and am hoping that I’ll be out of the house for most of the install lest the first words out of this new baby’s mouth may be of the four letter variety.

Oh wow! I love the direction you are going with the nursery and that you do not plan for it to look so kiddy. I am super excited for this makeover!
I love the look you're going for, and I especially like the fabric you chose for the cornice–it's been my #1 dream fabric for a long time! I'm very curious to know what it's like to DIY that kind of molding, so I will be following your process very carefully. Congratulations and good luck!
