When we first moved into our home, many of the pieces of furniture were hand-me-downs and things my husband and I had. Since then, a lot of it has been replaced for newer and more sturdy items. The latest item that was replaced was our very rickety entry table. For some uknown reason, we held on to this table for longer than we should have. I had been searching and searching for a perfect table to fit the small space and was very unlucky. And so it stayed. (Wow, I think I just found the reason.) How was it that the table I had schlepped from my apartment fit so perfectly and I couldn’t find a replacement? I will never know the answer.
Little Black Entry Table
I was always super nervous anytime the baby would crawl over to it and watched him like a hawk yelling, Freddy! Be careful. Don’t touch! He would look back at me and crack a nervous smile and crawl away. And so it continued to be there- until he started walking. Game changer–for sure. My search for a table became a little frantic. And then I found it. The perfect table for the entry. Small in size but big in character.
Check out the legs on her!
She happily lives in Casa Meyer now and I am thrilled. I love her so.
I got to styling her a bit and posted some pictures on Instagram.
Before assembly.
All done and styled.
Close up of the art.
The black framed out piece is a picture done on a mirror. It reminds me of our trip to Yellowstone. The silver framed picture is a postcard of the hotel we stayed at in Chicago. And the abstract is by Ashley Hizer.
Although I liked how clean the table looked, it needed to serve a function. I added back the hand key holder and the glass container for my sunglasses. I desperately needed to corral my 6 (yes, 6) pairs of sunglasses. My name is Mary and I have a slight addiction to sunglasses.
So with that, the baby is out of harm’s way and we have a beautiful new entry to match the rest of the room’s vibe.
Have a great weekend Buttercups and tune in next week for my first ever GIVEAWAY!
