Hey hey. I’m up and at em really early today. Got lots to do! I’m happy to report that Charlie, our little sick pup is feeling so much better. She really didn’t start feeling or looking better until about Sunday, but she is back to her spunky self now. I’m up earlier than normal particularly because the carpet cleaning guys were able to accommodate me and were here at 7:30 this morning. The white shag needed a deep cleaning and thankfully they were able to get it cleaned. The company I used was Absolute Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning and were really great. It was a team of 2 guys. They explained what they were using and why and even gave me some tips about using other natural alternatives for pet stains- such as baking soda. They were super nice too, on time and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them if you are in the Long Island area.
Moving along…
So things are in the works for the playroom- mainly in my head right now because the weekends have been so busy. But Craig has agreed to build the bookcases that will house the kid stuff and be a backdrop for the TV. On our to-do list is measuring and getting the supplies and then we will be off. Since the baby is going to walk ANY DAY NOW, we will need to keep him somewhat confined. We have a pretty open space, so doing this will be a challenge to say the least. I’m thinking some sort of safety gate contraption will have to do but one that spans a few feet- at least 6 feet or so! YIKES. That’s a lot of feet.
While Googling “Wide baby gates,” I found some pretty good options and some pretty amusing pictures.
The last picture looks like what we might end up getting. I’ve resigned to the fact that it will look awful and throw off the design aesthetic of the dining room (the adjoining room) but also realize that it is temporary and necessary. I get it. Kids change your life and your home. (Actually having a dog changes your home too, they make messes, they throw up or poop all over your white shag rug, but it come with the territory and all the love and happiness they bring when they aren’t pooping and making messes is well worth it.
Ok so…
Kids and pets change your home and life. So far we have kept things in check as far as the toys. So far- that is, until this little car showed up with Gammy (Craig’s mom) Friday afternoon.
