As you know we have moved. You may not know that last month, after waiting patiently for 16 months, we finally closed on the house and it’s now ours. Yes you read that right, 16 months. And it just so happened that we signed the papers just a few days before my birthday. Thanks hubs for the awesome present! You the best.
Since we had been renting, we didn’t really want to do too much to the house in case something fell through with the purchase. But now that she’s ours, we I have a honey do list a mile long. One of the projects that absolutely has to get done asap is the mudroom/pantry which we have lovingly called the Hot Mess Room. It is just that, a big ol’ hot mess. The walls drip, the drafts that comes in is horrible, zapping the heat out of our home and from the back of the house, it looks terrible. Of course I want to make the space as functional as possible but I want it to have a certain look. I want the floors to speak to the era of the house, 1892, but have some modern touches thrown in – say a light fixture and pretty wallpaper. We are taking baby steps with the house though. I feel fortunate to be living in my dream home and I want to do it justice. So we will take our time. Love it. Be in it. Let it speak to us. Tune in tomorrow though and every Tuesday in March for our first make over project– the powder room!
