Hi! It’s week 6 of the One Room Challenge and I can honestly tell you that I bit off more than I could chew with this round of the ORC. It’s not that the room is particularly challenging or there were a ton of DIY’s to do ( I mean there were some- I’m not a total slacker). This one has been mentally draining trying to keep up with lead times and shipment delays and forgetting that I had already ordered something and then re-ordering it. My brain hurts. I have too many things going on in my head, it’s been a challenge trying to keep with everything while parenting and planning and cleaning for a fairly large (post-ish Covid) family party- Sunday.
For my sanity I will keep this post short. I have to go relax a little before the whirlwind that tomorrow will be having our youngest child baptized. I do love these special occasions but the prep that goes into it- is crazy. My feet ache.
What this week had in store for me (us).
Cabinetry- mostly done being painted. One more coat on just the window nook.
DIY Roman Shade – complete
Bedding – figured out and put together
Now for some photos:
DIY No Sew Faux Roman Shade
This was a pretty easy project once my husband helped me to figure out the measurements. I used this tutorial I found on YouTube. Looking at this photo, I will probably be adding some sort of lining to the back to protect the fabric. The chic little pillow is from Stuck On Hue’s new collection. I am in love. Here’s a closeup.
Screenshot from IG. Thanks to Hollie for getting me these so fast!
I am so pleased with how the bedding came out. I still haven’t decided if I like the large Euro Shams but the quilt from Suchira’s is just so pretty and darling in this space.
More to come with the big reveal in a little over a week and a half. I still can’t believe I get to sleep in such a beautiful space. Thanks for all the support with this project. Please be sure to check out the other participants and featured designers. There is so much talent out there. Makes my heart happy to see it all in the ORC community.

I LOVE the pillow! What a lovely mix already!
