Sorry for the late post! But I’m here. Barely.

5 Weeks has flown by! It’s finally Spring in NY and I am so happy to see all the flowers are trees blooming. There was no blooming nothing in my room sadly as it sat there this week, untouched. Yup, I squandered a whole week! Why…? Well, it’s been a hell of a week. Life got in the way. Again. The biggest thing was taking care of my Abuelo (my grandpa) who stayed with us so that I could take him for Cataract surgery this week. Sure there was time in between were I could have snuck in a little painting, but it’s been emotionally and physically draining to say the least (running around with a toddler in tow). It’s life and I’m happy to help him out. After all, he is one of my most favorite people on this earth.
But good things are gonna happen. My husband and I are geared up for this weekend and ready to paint our little hearts out because that’s the only thing left to do other than style the room. So while I don’t have any progress pictures this week I want to show you the art I’ll be putting in the space.
This ship scene has to be one of my favorite vintage paintings. I stole it (with her permission) from my Mother in Law, Jeanne. Thanks Peanuts. I love the colors– both dark and moody waters and light and airy clouds.
Remember how I told you in my last post that we brought back Freddy from a trip out West? Well my mom got me this print of South Dakota. The heart is well, where… well you know what I’m getting at 😉 Super thoughtful gift from my Mama. Thanks Mom.
This picture hung in Freddy’s nursery. It’s a photo of his great grandfather Frederick. I love this picture and the history it holds.
If you look closely at the sepia colored photo, it’s of Frederick Meyer the man pictured above in the red frame. The next picture is my Father in Law, William Meyer and the picture after that is of my husband, Craig when he was around 3. The 4th slot is for a photo of Freddy which I have, but have to put in there. This frame was a gift at my shower from Craig’s Aunt Dorothy and it’s so sweet and special. She’s the family’s historian and a treasure!
The painting above is by Kate Domina. I had commissioned Kate to paint a portrait of Freddy for his room. It captures him perfectly. And it’s one of my most treasured pieces of art. And of course, if you look closely, the bird on his shoulder has Bison horns, a nod to South Dakota’s beautiful Bison which I fell in absolute love with on that trip.
The I Am Busy print sums up my kid. Always on the go, ants in his pants, joy of my life. This print is by Gray Malin. I love it!
Of course there will be some other things, but you’ll have to wait for the reveal happening next Thursday! Mark your calendars guys, it’s gonna be awesome. And thanks for following along and cheering me on!
Stay tuned for next week. Please make sure to check out the other Guest Participants and the 20 Original Bloggers!
