I’m back at it again guys with another edition of I Heart Art. It’s been a while, I know!
I’ve been wanting to write about the following artist since I met him just a few weeks ago. You know when you see someone across the room and there is something about their energy that you have to go and meet them? Well this is what I immediately thought of Ricardo Monge. He had a presence about him (not to mention a really well put together outfit) that made me want to go speak with him. We hit it off and started chatting about design, fashion and of course art. Hands down he was one of the easiest people I’ve chatted with in a long time. And when he showed me his art, I knew I had to let you all know about him. His imagery and use of colors is stunning and his passion for his work is contagious- we should all be that passionate about something! Check it out and you’ll see why. All images are from his site- MongeArt.com. Be sure to click the link under each set of photos for his beautiful descriptions and more images in the series.
And my personal favorite collection. El Jardin de las Edenas. (So thrilled we both share a Hispanic background- he’s from Puerto Rico!)
For lack of space, he started displaying his doll collection from the ceiling and out grew (no pun intended) a beautiful garden of these pretty flowers. I was blown away by this idea and the imagery. This series, particularly this first image is one of my favorite pieces of art. Ever. I love the skirt’s colors and even though I’m not a red fan, I love the pop of color the shoes provide in contrast with the blue in the skirt. Simply gorgeous.
I really love this one too, since Lillies are my favorite flower!
Thanks to Ricardo for allowing me to showcase your work. You are a true gem and beautiful soul.
