Whether or not you have one in your home, you have most likely heard of The Man Cave. It’s a space dedicated to the man of the house where he (and his friends) can hang and eat, drink beers and watch sports. Did I get that right, guys? I imagine there is not so much talking as yelling going on because let’s face it, sports are stressful and well, men aren’t usually the gossipy types anyways.
Well move over and out boys! Here come the ladies.
Have ya heard of the Woman Cave? Or the Diva Den? Now this is a space I can get behind- a space all my own. Hell yea. I envision it as space where I can entertain and sit and gossip chat with my girlfriends or watch Downton Abbey or have period movies like The Dutchess on repeat. It wouldn’t have any rogue toys or Legos to bust my foot on. It would be peaceful and feminine and fun. I could leave out all my “breakables” and have no fear that one of the babies will break it. I could put up cheeky or provocative art that inspires me and splurge on a super pretty rug that the dog (because he wouldn’t be allowed in the room. No Boys/Boy Dogs Allowed- sorry Cocoa Bean.) couldn’t pee on and ruin. God, I need this space ASAP.
Notice all the white and cream. Again this would be a no kid/dog/(maybe husband) zone. I do love white and cream and while I do have some in my house, it’s not as white/clean as it could be.
Now for some of the goodies in the space. You know I love to shop vintage so naturally I headed over to Chairish. The sellers on this site have some amazing finds!
The glorious artwork (that I will own come hell or highwater) is from Etsy. If you are not familiar with the site- please, I beg you to check it out. There are so many beautiful things from so many talented folks out there!

The gorgeous rug that I’ve been dying for is from Madeline Weinrib. It takes my breath away every time I see it. Le sigh. Not in the stars for me because it’s not in any budget I’ll ever have. A girl can dream.
The tall piece in the back right is a bar! How awesome is that? I love that the booze can be neatly tucked away when not in use! Both that piece and the pretty little side table are from Anthro. Yum.
And… that delicious, decadent sofa and tiger pillow are from Black Rooster. I want that in my grown up house/empty nest house for sure. It’ll keep me good company when my kids are off on their own and my ovaries are screaming for grand babies.
So there you have it. My ideal Diva Den/Woman Cave or Mom Getaway or whatever you wanna call it. It’s a mix of new and vintage, modern and traditional. My most favoritetist design style of all time.
Now I just need a new house with the space for a Diva Den and I may just have to get that No Boys Allowed sign.
PS: while writing this, the hubs who was looking over my shoulder said: “I get a man cave- you can have the rest of the house.” Make that a double hell yea!
