Week 3 is here and it finds me with lots to do. I am making slow but steady progress.
I picked up the Dorothy Draper style chest from my mom this past weekend. I promised I would take good care of it and restore it to it’s previous condition. It was my Aunt Tita’s. She’s long since passed away and so this chest is very special. But it needs help- a lot of help. A while back, when I was living with my mom we decided to give it a makeover because who knew that this would become a chic little piece!? So this is what happened…
Are you dying? Because I am!
How horrible! I’m sure the furniture gods are pissed at me right now. I hope my Mama can find the original hardware. Fingers crossed.
And to top that off… she needs a little fixing too.
Ouch… gotta get the glue out!
So with lots of advice from my uncle on how to proceed with this lovely project, I think I’m gonna tackle this challenge sometime this weekend. I may not make Easter dinner though. But I know it’s gonna look fantastic and I’ll make my Aunt proud.
A few things are also happening. Because Leigh Viner (who PS: I’m doing tomorrow’s post about so stay tuned) had a sale last week, I was able to scoop up this lovely…
Her name is Marianne and I can’t wait for her arrival!
And…I may have nailed down the wallpaper option. I’m just waiting for the sample to arrive.
But it looks like this–
BAM!
and lastly this progress happened…
Merry Christmas to me! The chandelier came and it looks fantastic- even if it’s in the plastic.
So Buttercups, make sure to check back on my progress next week and go check out the other peeps linking up for the One Room Challenge here and the top design bloggers here.

I love the chandy so much. Well done. And strong work on the Draper!
What a lovely chandelier! Santa favors you…lol.
So exciting about the Draper chest!! I love everything you have selected, that art is fabulous!
XOXO,
The Glam Pad
What an amazing piece! It will look great once your work some magic on it. 🙂
