Week 2 is here and not much has changed. But I’m sure I’ll get it together- I work well under pressure.
I’m a little delayed because I have yet to pick up the Draper style chest. I’m actually gonna get it Sunday so I’m sure I’ll be DIYing my little heart out next week.
Ok so I pretty much had nailed down the design in terms of the lighting especially… and then I was thrown for a loop when I saw this picture posted on Facebook by Christine over at 219 and I definitely gasped!
I mean seriously. I love this thing. So I quickly contacted her and got the deets. But too bad and so so sad- I just can not fit it in my space. The ceiling won’t allow for it. Poo. I highly recommend this if you can swing it. Tres chic.
So I researched the other chandelier options I had and all of them had the same problem. The fixtures themselves were too long! So a very frustrating search ensued. But to give you a back story first… The other day I was consulting with Craig regarding the chandelier choice. We came upon this great little fixture with a very funny name. Socket to Me. Yup, that’s it’s name. We chuckled about it but all in all it was a great modern chic fixture. But I moved on thinking I needed something gold or at least gold and black. During my search yesterday, I remembered that cute little chandelier and searched endlessly to get the best price I could (Mama’s got a baby to feed, remember?). I managed to find it, but when I went to order it a few hours later, the price jumped up! What the what?? I called customer service and sure enough the price had gone back to the original higher price because it was out of stock (yea I don’t know). The nice customer service guy told me that if they were sold out then chances are other suppliers would be too. RUH RO.
Frantic search. Then… sweet Lord I found it and snatched that shit right up. Yes, it was a touch more expensive, but I’m sure glad I got it. She- or maybe it’s a he- is a beaut.

and here it is in the scheme of the design.
I think it brings some masculinity to the space- which the house needs more of for sure.
Phew- 1 decision made a few more to go… like PAINT! How in the world are there so many whites!? Anyone have a suggestion on a good, not too creamy white? I’m looking for a modern yet classic white– help a girl out and please comment below.
Thanks Buttercups!
PS: don’t forget to check out the other linking party members here. Some really great things are happening!
and the top guys too

You're right, how can there be soo many whites! West Highland White (SherwinWilliams) is not too creamy.
I literally gasped when I saw that original chandelier. Woah…please share details. Although I have no place for it, but I don't care. I'll put it in my closet if I have to!
Love the one you chose…and it's quirky name.
OMG, those lights are gorgeous!!!! Love where this space is headed!
Lighting is my favorite thing to pick out, it's like jewelry! That chandelier is gorge, glad you were able to get it!
