So if you are following me on Instagram ( if you’re not- you totally should and the link is to the right ——> ) you probably saw some pictures of some pretty blooms. Between my birthday and Valentine’s Day, the month of February always means fresh flowers in the house thanks to the hubster. However, come the end of February the blooms are always a little wilty but there are always some in the bunch that have a couple of weeks left in them- namely Carnations (love these little guys). So I take out the wilted dead flowers and put the good flowers in some fresh water in one of my favorite vases and put them in the guest bathroom to liven up that space a little. I do this ALL THE TIME. Then I take a few small flowers and put them in bud vases and spread them around the house. It makes me smile especially coming in from the freezing weather outside! Can you tell I’m dying for Spring to arrive!?
I really love having fresh flowers in the house, but it does get a little pricey during the winter. I do buy them occasionally though because they do really make a space come to life. I always look forward to Spring because A.) the weather is great B.) Free flowers from the yard or my dad’s yard. I do love to cut Cherry Blossoms, Lilacs, Hydrangeas, Rhododendron, Peonies (thanks to my best friend Dawn) and whatever else I can get my hands on. Here are some photos I’ve taken of said flowers because after all I am my Grandfather’s granddaughter. He has hundreds of pictures of flowers…
